SG Sneaker Recycling Pays You Back: Introducing the SneaksGeeks Recycle & Earn Program

Sustainability Is The New Fresh — and now it comes with a reward.

We've always said that what you do with your old sneakers matters. Every pair that gets recycled instead of tossed into a landfill is a win for the planet. You already knew that. You've been showing up, donating, and keeping sneakers in the SG Sneaker Recycling program.

Now it's time SneaksGeeks gave something back.

We're officially launching the Recycle & Earn Program — our new sneaker recycling credit system that rewards you every time you drop off, mail in, or schedule a pickup through SneaksGeeks. Earn credits. Redeem them. Come back fresh. That's SG Sneaker Recycling working exactly the way it should.

How It Works

01 — Recycle Your Sneakers

Drop off your kicks at either of our locations in Los Angeles or Dallas, mail them in through our nationwide donate-by-mail program, or schedule a local pickup. Any eligible pair puts credits in your account.

02 — Earn Credits Automatically

Once your sneakers are received and graded by our team, credits are added to your SneaksGeeks account automatically. No extra steps, no waiting in line.

03 — Redeem at SneaksGeeks, Foot Locker & Amazon

Use your credits toward purchases at SneaksGeeks.world, Foot Locker, or Amazon. Whether you're hunting your next grail, restocking your rotation, or grabbing everyday essentials — your old pair goes further than you think.

What Counts? Our Grading Tiers Explained

We keep it fair and transparent. Every pair is graded by our team based on condition, and your credit value reflects that grade. Here's how we break it down:

Tier 1 — Pristine (Maximum Credits) Like-new or deadstock condition. Never worn outside, crisp midsoles, zero creasing. Original box preferred.

Tier 2 — Excellent (Premium Credits) Lightly loved. Minor creasing or small scuffs, clean uppers, intact tread. Still looking right.

Tier 3 — Good (Standard Credits) Well worn but fully functional. Clear signs of daily use, moderate wear — no structural damage or tears.

Tier 4 — Fair / Recycle (Minimum Credits) Heavily beaten but still structurally sound. Significant wear, heavy tread, but no gaping holes. These go straight into material recycling.

Not sure where your pair lands? Use our condition checklist on the trade-in page before you send them in.

What We Can't Accept

To keep the program running smoothly and fairly for everyone, we do have a short list of absolute no-gos. We can't accept sneakers with strong odors, mold, or mildew — separated soles, cracked leather, or completely torn uppers — counterfeit or replica footwear — or single shoes or mismatched pairs. If a pair doesn't meet our minimum standards, no credit will be issued. We'll always be upfront about that.

The Bigger Picture: The 30/35/35 Pledge

Every pair you bring into SG Sneaker Recycling is part of something bigger. That's why we built our 30/35/35 Pledge into everything we do:

  • 30% of all proceeds get reinvested back into the program

  • 35% of donations get recycled — including through material recovery programs

  • 35% get donated directly to communities in need

One pair. Real impact.

Why This Matters

Over 300 million pairs of sneakers get thrown away in the U.S. every single year. Each pair takes 30 to 40 years to decompose in a landfill — and manufacturing a new pair generates roughly 30 lbs of CO₂ before it ever hits a shelf.

The Recycle & Earn Program isn't just a perk. It's a way to close the loop — and make sustainability feel like the obvious choice, not the sacrifice.

Ready to Earn?

Grab your old kicks. Drop them off, mail them in, or schedule a pickup.

The closet's been holding onto those for too long. Time to put them back into SG Sneaker Recycling — and get something back for it.

Sustainability Is The New Fresh.
